3 Days - 48 Ducks & 42 Geese

We had a fantastic hunting trip to Alberta.  There were so many ducks and geese it is hard not to shoot a limit.  Our guides did a great job scouting and picking up land to hunt.

In Alberta it is illegal for farmers to charge money for hunting rights.  They can always so no, but most allow it.  So while some guides accompany us on the hunt, others are driving around morning and evening locating birds and getting permission.  The system works great.

Mike and Jon were both shooting well, but Jon had 3 days in a row of firsts for him.  Day one he shot 3 specklebellies out of a flock with 3 shots.  Day two repeated the same feat with Canadian geese.  And on the 3rd day killed two specklebellies with one shot - a clubhouse double.  Great indication of how well the birds were decoying.

Accomodations were great with a nice lodge, sleeping house, and a cook who prepared great meals everyday for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
