On his first day in South Dakota Scott wasted no time in bagging his first two pheasants.  Here is a shot of the first one ever.  It is at the taxidermist and will soon be home with him.  Scott did great with shooting, safety, and working through the fields.

Mike is resting his new Beretta on his shoulder.  He picked up the new gun at Kones Corner for the last day of hunting.  Mike was on fire day 1 and we wouldn't of shot a limit without him posting a big number.

With a great South Dakota sunset in the background Jim and Gus wrap up the day.  Gus has an exceptional nose and did very well in only his second year.  Jim put in another solid shooting performance this year.  However, his accuracy (and trigger happiness) came back to bite him when he bagged his second hen in 3 years :)

Grandpa, in his trademark yellow sweatshirt for this trip, is marching through the fields in this picture.  We were all very happy that he decided to come this year.  In case anyone ever questions a Tettambel's dietary choices, I direct you straight to Grandpa.  He can still punish fried foods with the best of them and put on an onion ring exhibition at Schmitty's while watching the Cardinals win the World Series.

Mark walked without a gun on day one to guide Scott on his first day in the field.  He quickly realized Scott was more than capable of handling himself  (as shown above) and went back to knocking down roosters the rest of the trip.  Mark also brought everyone a neat little gift - a Moose Drool bottle opener.  Moose Drool is a great beer we first encountered while fishing in Montana, but you can find it in stores in Sioux Falls, SD.

After a day at the shooting range with Jeff in November 2005 we had him get his eyes checked.  A trip to the optometrist yielded nothing exciting.  All the doctor ordered was a little more shooting practice and South Dakota offers plenty.  Jeff did well and quickly learned a rooster can explode from anywhere at anytime.

Jon had a lot of fun this year and really enjoyed having Rudy there.  Especially after the dog stayed home last year with some airline complications.  In keeping with tradition of utilizing the varmint part of the small game license, Jon killed a skunk his first day in South Dakota.  He is still waiting to see another elusive jackrabbit.
